Cuba Libre, Philadelphia
Our team roasted a coworker this evening wishing her well as she moves on to a new job. What a great place to celebrate her new venture.. We shared Plato Cha Cha Cha which was a sampling of Cuba Libre's aperitivos: Mariquitas Cubanas, Albondigas Camaguey, Gucamole Cubano, Mama Amelia's Cataluna Empanadas and Guava BBQ Ribs. I loved the guacamole made with avocados, golden pineapple fresh lime juice and extra virgin olive oil and served with crispy plantain chips. I ordered ceviche, a chilled cocktail of poached shrimp, roasted tomato and pepper sauce and Black Hills organic popcorn, diced Bigeye tuna, jalapeno-coconut ginger sauce. red onion escabeche. I sampled my boss's Camarones con Cana: pan seared jumbo shrimp, mango BBQ glaze. Crispy Anaheim pepper stuffed with creamy quinoa, sweet potato and Mascarpone cheese. Roasted Cubanelle crema. Guacamole Cubano. I'm definitely ordering that next time!
